Engaged in long-term research and industrialization work related to coating materials and technology, powder metallurgy, and metal materials. He has accomplished over 20 national level scientific research projects and developed innovative composite coating materials coated with nano aluminum powder, the new composite powder and coating technology are widely used in multiple fields of military and civilian industries, significantly promoting the progress of composite coating technology and the practical level of nano metal powder materials in China. He has successfully developed a world level high-speed and high-temperature coating abradability test rig in China. Based on the abradablilty test rig a series of innovative long-service life and high reliability abradable coatings were developed and have been widely used in advanced aviation engines and steam turbines, which enhanced the innovation capability of high performance coatings and the research level of coating service performance evaluation technology in China. As the first author, he had won one National Science and Technology Progress Award(Second Class), 6 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological awards(First Class), and one China Patent Excellence Award. Authorized 80 national invention patents and published 105 academic papers; and participated in multiple international academic exchange conferences, including the International Thermal Spray Conference and the Sino-Russian Bilateral Symposium on New Materials and Advanced Technologies. In 2004, he received a special government allowance from the State Council. In 2006, he was selected as a national level candidate for the "New Century Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Project".
