Application of Platinum Group Metals in Mobile and Stationary Source Emission Control

Mobile and stationary source emissions are the main sources of air pollution. Catalysis is an important technical means to control their emissions. Platinum group metals (PGM) are one of the main active components of environmental catalytic materials and are widely used in the fields of motor vehicle exhaust purification and industrial air emission control. This report reviews the development of mobile source emission regulations, focuses on the latest progress of our research team in the integrated application of PGM catalytic materials and their automotive exhaust catalyst products, and looks forward to the technical development direction to meet the next stage emission control regulations. This report also explains the challenges and countermeasures of the application of PGM catalytic materials under the complex working conditions of industrial exhausts.
